Today I'm contemplating stopping this blog. I mean, in all honesty, the only people who visit it are mainly family members who just want to see photos of Seth. It barely gets traffic, let alone comments or anything. So then my thought was: well, Angela, it's a way for you to communicate about trials and challenges and even successes in being a first-time mother. But then I thought: no one cares. I could write about our 4-month check-up but in reality that probably doesn't interest many. We can just email photos to family occasionally, to those who don't see him on a somewhat regular basis.
Who knows, maybe this site gets more traffic than I think. I just think that I have enough going on each day/week/month that dropping the blog would be an easy choice. I don't really do it for myself, i offer it to others. If the interest isn't there than i am wasting my time.
Give a shout if you'd like to see the blog stay. Results will determine the fate of Hammersmith Happenings. :o)
The End.

oh man...i'd hate to see it go...but I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND!! I'm looking to simplify some commitments in my life too.
I subscribe to your blog in my reader. You can set up feedburner on your blog and it will keep track of how many subscribers you have.
If you do stop the blog I'd love to be on your email list. Seth is a CUTIE!!
oh yeah...I like having my son's blog b/c it is more like a diary or event log that I probably wouldn't do anyway. I don't write in a journal on my day to day but I try to do the blog and having the idea that someone is reading it keeps me going so they can be up to date. We recently had a friend who we usually just keep in contact with via wedding invitations and christmas cards she visited my blogs and my sister's blogs and read all the past posts in one sitting she said it took her all night. She said it was like getting to know us all over again. I think there is benefit to it even if it isn't immediate.
There is also a really cool site that will turn your blog into a book. So one day when you're all done or maybe after a period of time you can book your blog and have a record of the day to day and not too significant stuff but things you'd forget and your little one can have that forever.
Those are some cool ideas Liz, thanks! We'll see. The blog may stay...
I agree with Liz. I would be sad to not get updates, but I totally understand the parent thing. I have 2 crazy ankle biters and finding time to blog is not always easy. I also subscribe in an RSS reader, so your tracker may not see me reading it because I don't always load the page. Liz has some cool ideas and Feedburner totally rocks. If the blog stays, I will try harder to comment more often. I felt this way about my blog before and I have just stuck with it and learned a lot. Now I have a lot more blogging friends on the West Coast and they read it more than my family does. Anyways, feel free to visit me too at http://technerdical.churchpunk.com.

I would be so sad:((((( to see it go! I for one look foreward to your new posts but to understand the business of motherhood!
AHHH!!! No, keep it!
I read every update!
I just read through Bloglines (it puts all the blogs I read in one place), so that is why you don't see traffic from me!!
yes!! keep it! I feel the same way sometimes...but I like reading your blog, especially because we are going thru the same stuff right now, i know i am not so good at commenting all the time, but i think about you guys a lot!
How was the 4 month checkup? any more shots? Seth still gaining weight?
I always, always read your blog! I just read it through google reader :)
Don't go away. It is fun to keep up even from far away!
I promise I will comment more ;)
Angela,
I read it once a week, but like Chris, I read it with an RSS reader, so that I can read it on my Handheld, so you might not see me either.
