Last night, Evan sold his prized sub, crossover and rack from his college days. They were all either in the attic or the spare room taking up space. So, he decided to let them go. It was emotionally draining for him, he said. I think it was letting go of the awesome memories we have of STE parties, where admittedly, he was the best dj ever (maybe I'm a little biased).
Hmmm. Memories. Why do we have to grow up so fast?

awwww....no more Dj ing? that is sad...like leavign a part of life behind...depressing! Im sure it will be replaced with something new and wonderful someday:)

One of my favorite memories of Evan's Subwoofer was when he used MATLAB to simulate the frequency believed to be cause men to lose control of their bowels. Then it broke.
ah yes, the "brown noise". we can thank South Park for that one. The sub broke? I thought the only time it blew was at the rave party STE threw that spring.
haha, that was actually the first thing i thought of too, i just wasn't sure how to say it ;P
yes. we did try to recreate the brown noise believed to be 13Hz, however there were 2 obstacles:
1. low frequency simulation through my speaker was not good for the speaker in that it was close to a DC signal. Prolonged testing may have ruined my sub.
2. the amount of "power" or amplitude required to vibrate my bowels from a few feet away would have required a much larger speaker than mine.
what was even funnier than testing it, was asking Dr. Rost if it was possible to acheive. He said to ask Dr. Brown, who he assumed had already tested it out at some point.
Evan was the best DJ ever :)
